Captains Bio
Barry and Jan welcome you to their luxury apartments situated at beautiful Waihau Bay. This safe and sandy beach is considered by many to be the best on the East Cape.
The area offers excellent fishing and diving, along with beautiful scenery for nature lovers, or those who just want to get away and relax.
The apartments are situated in a small coastal bay, with all required amenities immediate to hand, while still isolated enough to be removed from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
Boat Specs / Records
2 large fully self contained motel units with separate bedrooms sleeping from 1 to 7 people, plus a 3 bedroom 'Kiwi' bach which will sleep up to 8 people. Enjoy wonderful sea views while using fully equipped kitchens, microwaves, colour TV, dining and lounge areas. An outdoor BBQ area is also provided with facilities for cooking crayfish.
If line, or big game fishing are for you, this can be arranged for you on Oceansides' own charter boat. Superb land based fishing is also available for your enjoyment almost on the doorstep of your apartment. Oceansides' boat can be fitted with a gang plank and hand rails to enable Barry to safely drop land based fisherman on the rocks at Cape Runaway and pick up again later. All land based fisherman are supplied with a hand held VHF so they can stay in touch with the boat.
Continental or fully cooked breakfasts, dinners and picnic lunches provided upon request.
If you have always wanted to learn about diving, then talk to Barry, he has over forty years of professional diving experience which will assist you no matter what your experience with diving. The East Cape of New Zealand is known for its beautiful diving scenery and abundance of crayfish.
